The following university degrees are “recognised” for initial registration as an architect in New Zealand.

  • University of Auckland – M Arch (Prof), M Arch (Prof) Heritage Conservation, M Arch (Prof) Urban Design, M Arch (Prof) Urban Planning, B Arch (5 year - historic)
  • Unitec Auckland – M Arch (Prof), B Arch (5 year - historic)
  • Victoria University of Wellington – M Arch (Prof), B Arch (5 year - historic)

Australia

Singapore

  • National University of Singapore – B Arch, M Arch

Hong Kong

  • University of Hong Kong – M Arch
  • Chinese University of Hong Kong – M Arch

Historic

  • AERB Special Certificate
  • NZRAB Eligibility or Equivalency Certificate

If you don't have a recognised qualification, you need to apply under Pathway 2.
